Cursor Agent is Cursor’s assistant for autonomous coding tasks. It can inspect repositories, modify code and other files, execute terminal commands, search code and the web, and iterate on implementation work. Cursor documents tools for file editing, terminal use, and connecting MCP servers. Agent can also review diffs, use checkpoints, and follow project rules. Cursor supports workflows that begin from desktop, web, or mobile, with work continued in the desktop editor; its Background Agents API can programmatically create and manage agents that work directly on GitHub repositories.
