AgentGPT

An open-source web app where you name an AI agent and give it a goal; it proposes tasks, runs them and learns from the results. The GitHub repository was archived and made read-only in January 2026.

What it does

AgentGPT lets you configure and deploy AI agents from a browser. You give an agent a name and a goal, and it tries to reach that goal by proposing tasks, carrying them out and learning from the outcomes. The project is a Next.js front end with a FastAPI back end and LangChain for model tooling. A bundled setup CLI, with scripts for Mac/Linux and Windows, walks through environment variables, API keys, the database, the back end and the front end, after which the app is served at localhost:3000. You need Docker, Node.js, Git and an OpenAI API key; Serper and Replicate keys are optional. The repository was archived by its owner on 28 January 2026 and is now read-only. It is licensed under GPL-3.0, and a hosted version at agentgpt.reworkd.ai is listed on the repository page.
