AgenticSeek

An open-source assistant you run on your own machine that browses the web, writes and runs code, and routes each request to a suitable agent, using local or API-hosted language models.

Autonomous agentsBrowser automation

What it does

AgenticSeek is an autonomous assistant designed to run on your own hardware. It can browse the web by itself, searching, reading pages, extracting information and filling in forms, and it can write, debug and run programs in languages such as Python, C, Go and Java. A routing step picks the agent that best suits each request, and larger jobs can be split into steps handled by several agents. It works with language models served locally through Ollama or LM Studio, with an OpenAI-compatible server, or with a model running on another machine on your network. If your hardware is not powerful enough, you can instead set an API key for a hosted provider such as OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, Hugging Face, TogetherAI, OpenRouter or MiniMax. You start the bundled services, including the SearxNG search service, with Docker and then use either a web interface on localhost or a command-line mode. Voice features exist in the configuration but are marked experimental or in progress, and the project warns that form filling and agent routing are still early and may fail.

Capabilities

  • Autonomous web browsing: search, read, extract information and fill forms
  • Writes, debugs and runs code in several languages
  • Automatically picks the agent best suited to each request
  • Works with local models through Ollama or LM Studio, or with hosted provider APIs
  • Web interface on localhost plus a command-line mode
  • Voice input and output options (experimental)

When to use it

  • You want an agent that works on files on your own machine rather than through a hosted service
  • You have hardware able to run a reasoning model locally, or are happy to supply your own provider API key
  • You want to try an early-stage open-source agent and are comfortable setting up Docker
