What it does

This public repository holds a free lite scanner and checklist, published by Signal Loom Works for developers who give AI coding agents access to local repositories. The README lists things worth checking before an agent gets tool access: agent instruction files, MCP and editor configuration, shell scripts, package hooks, workflow files and files near secrets. You clone the repo and run agent_preflight_lite.py against a local checkout with Python 3. The result is a Green, Yellow or Red rating, which the README also uses to suggest whether the paid pack is worth buying. It says the scan runs locally without uploading private code. A $7 starter pack sold through Payhip adds report templates, a demo repo containing risky patterns, verification scripts, a quickstart, a destructive-command hook and a fuller repo preflight. The README advises buying it only after a Yellow or Red free scan.

Capabilities

  • Free lite preflight scanner run as a Python script on a local repo
  • Looks at agent instructions, MCP and editor settings, shell scripts, package hooks and secret-adjacent files
  • Green, Yellow or Red result to guide how much care a run needs
  • Local-only scan; the README says private code is not uploaded

When to use it

  • You are about to give a coding agent access to a repo and want a quick risk check first
  • You want a lightweight checklist for reviewing agent-run pull requests
