What it does
AI Badger runs on your machine and works out which parts of a repository an AI chat needs to see. You copy its prompts into the chat of your choice and paste the replies back, so you decide what is shared and nothing is uploaded automatically. It needs no API keys and sends no telemetry. In the design flow you describe a goal, copy the first prompt into your chat, paste back the list of files the AI asks for, then copy a second prompt that includes them. You can review the AI's answer in Badger and confirm any writes to your files. A separate review command prepares a request for an independent review of your Git changes. Other pieces include an offline HTML map of the codebase, Agent Skills for handing off a session or requesting a review, non-interactive commands for editors and scripts, and a companion VS Code extension. It is written in Go and installs with Homebrew or a curl script, with Windows instructions in its docs.
