Applitools

AI-assisted testing platform with two products: Eyes for automated visual and functional testing of web and mobile apps, and Autonomous for creating and running tests described in plain English.

Testing & QA

What it does

Applitools is a testing platform built around two products. Eyes adds Visual AI checks to web and mobile test suites and runs tests in parallel across many browsers and devices. Autonomous lets QA staff describe user journeys in plain English and runs them as self-healing tests. The homepage pitch is about checking AI-written code. The vendor argues that validating such code with LLM agents is probabilistic, and offers what it calls a Deterministic Language Model paired with Visual AI so results are reproducible. It says the visual model was trained on four billion proprietary images. It can run as SaaS, in a dedicated cloud on Amazon, Azure or GCP, or on-premises inside a firewall. The site states ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II compliance, supports SSO and SAML, and lists more than 60 integrations with test frameworks, CI/CD tools, bug trackers and chat tools. Test targets named on the site include websites, Storybook components, Figma designs, native mobile apps and PDF documents, with Playwright among the listed technologies.

Capabilities

  • Visual AI that flags meaningful UI changes rather than raw pixel differences
  • Parallel cross-browser and cross-device test runs
  • Plain-English test authoring and a codeless recorder
  • Self-healing tests and root cause analysis
  • SDKs and an MCP server for developer and agent workflows
  • SaaS, dedicated cloud or on-prem deployment

When to use it

  • You need visual regression checks across browsers and devices
  • Your team uses AI coding tools and wants a repeatable check on the resulting UI
  • QA staff want to write tests in plain English without code
  • Security rules require private-cloud or on-prem testing
