What it does
ASReview is open-source software for AI-aided systematic reviewing, coordinated at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Its AI helps researchers work through large volumes of texts so they can reach the relevant ones sooner, with the aim of reducing screening workload. The product is organised around a few areas. Screen is the core screening workflow, and Simulate lets you test AI-aided reviewing to find the model that works best for you. Crowdscreen lets AI agents propose records to a crowd of experts so that screening can run in parallel. Add-on software covers datasets, data tools, Docker, server and cloud deployment, and templates for building new models. The site describes the software as fully open source, GDPR compliant and free of tracking cookies, with users keeping control of their data. It offers installation instructions, a live demo, documentation, a donation page and weekly community stand-ups.
