What it does
Bodega One Code is a free, local-first coding environment where AI agents plan, build and verify work inside a full IDE. It does not include or host a model: you bring your own, either a local one such as Ollama, LM Studio or llama.cpp, or an API key for one of more than ten supported cloud providers. You pay those providers directly. Agents can work in parallel, each on its own git worktree, so a handed-off task runs in the background while you keep coding. You review the diff before applying it. Scheduled loops can handle recurring chores such as dependency bumps or test backfills and land as diffs waiting for your approval. Each change goes through a verification loop with syntax and type checks and a test gate. Other features include air-gap mode that blocks outbound network paths, custom agent profiles with tool allowlists, an interactive map of the project, and an optional mixture-of-agents mode. The manual ships inside the app and works offline. The product is in open beta for Windows, macOS and Linux, with no account required, and a CLI is available.
