What it does
ChatCrystal is a personal knowledge-management app for developers who work with AI coding tools. It imports conversation history from tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI, Trae and GitHub Copilot, then uses a language model to distil each conversation into a note with a title, summary, conclusions, code snippets and tags. Notes can be searched by meaning using embeddings, browsed through a tag knowledge graph, and exported as Markdown. A CLI and MCP tools let coding agents recall earlier work and write reusable experience back. It runs locally with separately configured language-model and embedding providers; the page says you need both, and mentions that an existing Ollama setup or an external API can be used. It is available as a desktop app (a Windows installer is listed), as an npm-installed CLI with a browser interface, or as a Docker deployment for use across several devices. The project is released under the Apache 2.0 licence.
