What it does
Claude Code lets you work with Claude directly in a codebase to build, debug and ship. It is available for macOS, Linux and Windows, and can also be used from the web, iOS, Android, GitHub, VS Code, JetBrains and Slack. The site says it maps and explains whole codebases using agentic search, so you do not have to choose context files by hand. It connects to GitHub, GitLab and command-line tools to read issues, write code, run tests and submit pull requests, and it can make edits across multiple files. Recent feature announcements on the page include dynamic workflows that run across tens to hundreds of parallel subagents, an agent view for managing all your sessions, routines that run on a schedule, an API call or an event, and computer use that opens your apps and navigates your browser. Starting in the terminal takes a one-line install script, and there are native extensions for VS Code (including Cursor) and JetBrains IDEs. Claude Code is included in the Pro, Max 5x and Max 20x plans.
