What it does

Deforum Stable Diffusion is a community project that packages stable diffusion image synthesis as an IPython notebook designed for Google Colab, with a Python script and local runtime options. It supports interpolation, 2D and 3D animations and RANSAC animations, plus CLIP, aesthetic and color palette conditioning. It can be run four ways: locally with the .py file, locally in Jupyter, through a Colab local runtime, or on Colab servers. The main notebook exposes over 100 settings. Setup calls for ffmpeg, NVIDIA drivers for CUDA 11.7, a Hugging Face token, Anaconda and Git. The README opens with a notice that the project is no longer maintained or updated and advises users to find alternatives or fork it. It also points to a web demo and API on Replicate.

Capabilities

  • Interpolation, 2D, 3D and RANSAC animation modes
  • CLIP, aesthetic and color palette conditioning
  • Runs as a Colab notebook, in Jupyter or as a local script
  • Over 100 settings in the main notebook
  • Web demo and API available on Replicate

When to use it

  • You want to experiment with stable diffusion animation from a notebook you control
  • You are ready to fork the code and maintain it yourself
  • You want open-source code to read or adapt for animated diffusion output
