What it does

Devin is presented as an autonomous software engineer for engineering teams. Work can happen in the cloud or on your own computer. As needed, Devin starts Windows, Mac and Linux virtual machines to build what it writes, exercise it in a browser and capture a recording of the clicks it made. Large tasks can be split across parallel cloud agents that report back, so work carries on while your laptop is closed. The site lays out four stages. In understand and plan, a Wiki maps the codebase and keeps diagrams and code maps current. In code and test, you delegate to Devin Cloud, work in the Desktop app or CLI, or mention @Devin. In review, Devin Review checks code for bugs and vulnerabilities, and a fix can be assigned to Devin. In automate and maintain, scheduled and event-driven workflows take on repetitive work. Devin connects to Slack, Teams, GitHub, Linear and Jira and supports MCP integrations, so it can triage bugs, fix failing CI, investigate alerts and turn assigned tickets into PRs. It mixes several frontier models, and the news feed announces newly added ones. Enterprise controls named on the site include a separate VM per session, audit logs, RBAC, SSO, SCIM and OIDC, private networking, and a zero-data-retention requirement placed on its model providers. No prices are shown; the page offers Get started and Book a demo.

Capabilities

  • Cloud or local execution, with Windows, Mac and Linux VMs started as needed
  • Splits large tasks across parallel cloud agents
  • Started by tagging @Devin in Slack or Teams, or through Linear and Jira tickets
  • Devin Review flags bugs and vulnerabilities, with one-click fix assignment
  • Wiki that maps the codebase and keeps diagrams current
  • Scheduled and event-driven automations for CI failures, bugs and alerts

When to use it

  • You want to hand off tickets or bugs and review a finished PR instead of writing the first draft
  • You need long-running work to continue in the cloud while you are offline
  • Your team wants issue, CI and alert triage handled automatically
  • You need enterprise controls such as SSO, audit logs and per-session VMs
