What it does
DSH Studio is a native desktop shell, built with Rust and Tauri 2, that hosts DeepSeek Harness (dsh), a local web service, in its own window. It starts the service, restarts it with backoff if it exits, and sends a real HTTP request every ten seconds to catch a service that is running but no longer answering. Every process it spawns is tied to the app, so quitting it cleans up the whole process tree. Closing the window only hides the app in the tray and the service keeps running until you quit from the tray menu. Setup is handled for you. The app looks for a suitable Node.js, or downloads and verifies one into its own data directory, and installs the harness package into a private location so nothing is added to PATH. The harness interface is loaded unmodified rather than forked, and the app includes a log console and English and Chinese interface languages. Inside the window you can search the npm registry and install or switch off plugins, keep a prompt library and per-workspace project notes, browse workspace files, review Git changes side by side, and work with sessions, usage and profiles. Optional remote access lets a phone on the same network connect through a one-time QR code pairing, with credentials that can be revoked per device, while the service itself stays on loopback. The v0.9.x line is described as production-ready for supported desktop workflows. Installers are published for Windows, macOS (Intel, Apple Silicon and universal) and Linux, in a lite edition and a full offline edition.
