What it does
EKHOS AI is transcription software for Windows. The site says its AI runs locally on your computer, that audio, video and transcripts are processed offline and stored on the machine, and that there is no telemetry and no external transmission of files or transcripts. It transcribes most audio and video file types, can record and transcribe microphone or speaker audio, labels speakers, and handles bulk jobs through a queue. Processing can use the CPU or a compatible NVIDIA GPU, with three model levels (Intermediate, Advanced and Expert) and optimized or standard modes. For proofreading, a built-in media player works with a tracks editor that highlights transcript segments as the recording plays, alongside a plain text editor and search. Transcripts can be exported to Word, PDF or text. Local protection includes a password, a recovery phrase and an encrypted local database. You create an account with your name and email address, confirm the email, and install the app from the Microsoft Store.
