Forgeo

Command-line tool that works through a task backlog by running the coding agent you already use, one task per cycle, committing each result and running a refactoring pass when the backlog is empty.

What it does

Forgeo is a command-line tool that gives your coding agent a backlog to work through. It picks the next runnable task, runs the agent CLI you configure on it, and commits the result. Progress is kept in plain files and in a web dashboard, and it only interrupts you when a human decision is needed. The backlog can be a plain JSON file or come from GitHub, GitLab, Jira or an HTTP source. Tasks run one at a time: the oldest open task whose dependencies are complete, or one with a scheduled run time. Any agent CLI that reads the task from an environment variable can be used, and the page names Claude Code, Codex, opencode and aider. When the backlog is empty it runs a refactoring pass. Failures are handled with a blocked state for human input, a retry policy and Telegram or webhook notifications. An optional review mode commits to a review branch and waits for you to merge. The agent can run in a Docker sandbox, which has no network by default. Forgeo needs a terminal, a git repository and an agent CLI, and is MIT licensed.
