What it does

genei is a research tool for getting through reading faster. You import PDFs and webpages, and it produces summaries and extracts keywords across a group of documents. The site points it at academic writing, professional writing and content production. Documents are kept in customisable projects and folders, with a notepad and annotation tools. Content can be linked to any part of a document to generate references, and a citation manager and reference generator are built in, with export. A Chrome extension summarises web pages as you browse or saves them for later. The pro plan adds summarising, search and question answering across several documents, plus rephrasing and paraphrasing. Both plans start with a 14-day free trial that can be cancelled any time. The page footer carries a 2021 copyright date, and a banner at the top points to a separate analysis tool, CoLoop, for qualitative research.
