What it does
harmony-next.skills is a library of skills that teaches an AI coding assistant about HarmonyOS NEXT development. The reference material is stored locally, so the assistant can look up answers without going online. It covers API 12 to 26 declarations, ArkTS and ArkUI, the NDK, DevEco Studio, debugging and publishing. The assistant finds what it needs by following a fixed path through the bundled files, starting from SKILL.md and moving through the kit and task maps to an index of documents. There is also an API 26 snapshot of declarations, types and signatures, plus guides for the DevEco emulator that include device automation. The bundle also ships scripts for collecting device evidence, UI and UX checks, traces and command-line tools, and a minimal Empty Ability app used as a smoke-test fixture. It installs with the skills command-line tool for Claude Code and Codex, or with a gemini skills install command for Gemini CLI. The project is released under the MIT licence. The documentation comes from official Huawei HarmonyOS material, whose copyright stays with the original authors. The README text on the page is mainly in Chinese.
