What it does

Jev Chat Assistant, also called jev-chat, is an open-source chat decision assistant. Before you answer a message, it first forms a view of what the sender is after, how risky the situation is and which approach fits. Only then does it draft replies, check them against that view, rank them and let you drop one into the input box with a tap. It never sends anything itself, and the decision to send stays with you. On Android it reads the conversation through the accessibility service and works with WhatsApp, QQ, Feishu and X. The repository ships a Chinese edition and an English global edition for WhatsApp, and there are separate projects for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon) and an iOS keyboard that you build yourself from source. Requests go only to the model provider you configure, using your own key, and the project says it runs no server and never receives your chats. The site warns that using Jev inside third-party chat apps may break their terms of service and could get an account restricted.
