What it does
Jupyter AI is an open-source extension for JupyterLab that connects AI agents to notebooks. The documentation lists agents including Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Goose, Kilo, Kiro, Mistral Vibe and OpenCode as usable directly inside JupyterLab, and says the current release is v3.2.0. Chats are collaborative, so you can talk with AI personas and other people in the same shared conversation and drag in attachments for context. While an agent works you can watch it edit files, run notebooks and repair errors in cells as it happens. By default, agents pause to ask before they write files, run shell commands or call MCP tools. You can also create your own persona, or give personas custom MCP servers to use.
