LocalePack

Web service that translates a Chrome extension's messages.json into up to 52 locales and returns a ready-to-use _locales ZIP with placeholders left intact. You pay once per job.

Translation

What it does

LocalePack is an AI localization service built around the Chrome extension locale format. You upload a source messages.json file (up to 500 KB), choose target languages, see a price estimate, pay through Stripe, and download a ZIP containing the _locales folders with a messages.json for each language. It reads the description fields in your file and uses them as context for the translations, and it keeps placeholder syntax such as $USER$ exactly as written. Languages are translated in parallel, and the site says most jobs finish in under five minutes after payment. The site positions it against manual translation and general translation management systems, with a one-time payment per job and no subscription. The navigation also lists pages for Firefox, Edge, Opera, Safari, Vue.js, React, Next.js, i18next and React Native.

Capabilities

  • Upload messages.json and download a ready _locales ZIP
  • Translates into 52 locales, all in parallel
  • Keeps $PLACEHOLDER$ variables unchanged
  • Uses description fields as context hints for translations
  • Price shown before you pay, based on file size and languages
  • One-time payment per job, no subscription

When to use it

  • You maintain a Chrome extension and need its interface strings in many languages quickly.
  • You want a store listing and interface localized without setting up a translation management system.
  • You prefer paying per job instead of a monthly subscription.
