What it does

Merlin is an AI assistant that works as a Chrome extension and a web app, with iOS and Android apps linked from the site. After installing the extension you can open the chat on any website with a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl or Cmd plus M), ask about the page, and summarize pages, PDFs, slide decks and YouTube videos. It also gives answers next to search results, and the site says the automatic answers shown on Google do not count against your free queries. A single account reaches models from several providers, which the site lists as OpenAI, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, Mistral, Llama and Grok models. Other tools include Projects (reusable knowledge bases from your own files), Crafts (diagrams, mind maps and charts from a prompt), working app snippets, custom chatbots, a prompt library and image generation with Flux 1.1 Pro and other image models. Free accounts receive 102 queries a day. The pricing section compares a stack of separate subscriptions with Merlin at $19 per month billed annually. Merlin Pro is aimed at individuals who want unlimited queries, and Merlin Teams is for teams of five or more, priced per member.
