What it does
Merlin is an AI assistant delivered as a Chrome extension and a web app. Once installed, you can open its chat on any website with a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl or Cmd plus M) and ask about the page you are on, summarize pages, documents and YouTube videos, or get an AI answer alongside search results. On some sites, including X, LinkedIn, YouTube and Gmail, it adds its own buttons. One account gives access to models from several providers, which the site lists as OpenAI, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, Mistral, Llama and Grok models, so you do not need a separate account for each. Beyond chat there are Projects (reusable knowledge bases built from your own files), Crafts (diagrams and interactive charts from a prompt), React-based app snippets, custom chatbots, a prompt library and image generation with 20+ image models. Free accounts receive 102 queries per day, and heavier models use more queries per request than lighter ones. Paid options include Merlin Pro for individuals who want unlimited queries and Merlin Teams for groups of five or more. The site cites GDPR, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certification.
