What it does

Power Apps is Microsoft's low-code platform for building and deploying business applications. The page describes several ways to build: arranging components by hand, prompting generative AI in natural language, or writing custom code, with apps deployable across web and mobile. Business users and professional developers work in one shared workspace. AI appears at several stages. In planning, you describe goals, roles and workflows in plain language and AI turns them into solution blueprints and suggests data models. Inside finished apps, Microsoft 365 Copilot can be brought in for chat help grounded in business context, an agent feed lets users oversee AI agents, AI can fill in form fields using content from emails, chats, documents and images, and users can ask questions of their data in plain language to get grids, charts and summaries. Data is stored in Microsoft Dataverse. For administrators, the platform offers central policy controls over environments, data loss, access and audit logging, plus security and backup options. The site lists pairings with Azure, Teams, SAP and Dynamics 365. A free Developer plan covers building and testing. Power Apps Premium is listed at $20.00 per user per month, paid yearly, and some Microsoft 365 licenses include a limited Power Apps Basic.
