mix2

Terminal app that pairs two coding agent CLIs, such as Claude Code and Codex, has both investigate a question independently, and returns one answer that shows any disagreement.

What it does

mix2 is a terminal app that puts two coding agents on the same question. Each investigates in parallel and independently, then they compare notes and the app returns a single team answer. Where they disagree, the answer says so, and an activity panel (Ctrl+T) shows who did what. The default pairing is Claude Code and Codex, but any two of Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and GitHub Copilot CLI can be used, including the same one twice. mix2 does not replace those tools: each must already be installed and signed in, and mix2 uses their own logins. It is aimed at judgment work such as design, code review, debugging discussions and tradeoffs. It does not edit your code. For implementation requests both agents agree an approach and write a plan into a .mix2 folder, with the command to run it in your agent's own CLI. The team's only write target is that scratchpad, some agents are wrapped in an OS sandbox, and consultations are capped at two per turn by default. It runs on macOS and Linux with Node.js 22 or newer; Windows is not supported yet.

Capabilities

  • Two agents investigate in parallel and independently
  • One reconciled answer with disagreements disclosed
  • Pluggable pairs from Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and Copilot CLI
  • Writes a plan file instead of changing your code
  • Writes confined to a .mix2 scratchpad, with OS sandboxing for some agents
  • Activity panel showing what each agent did

When to use it

  • You want a second independent opinion on architecture, design or a bug
  • You already use two agent CLIs and want their takes compared
  • You want a plan two agents agree on before running an implementation in your own agent
