What it does

Modulate builds voice AI that looks at how something is said as well as what is said. Its Velma models use an approach the site calls the Ensemble Listening Model, which weighs many audio signals in each utterance to catch problems that a plain transcript misses, such as fraud, synthetic voices, customer churn and AI voice agent failures. There are two ways in. The Modulate Platform is aimed at enterprise teams: you describe what you want to prevent, such as fraud, churn, compliance violations or abuse, and it listens to conversations and raises alerts. The Modulate API is for developers who want to build their own system, with several model families on one self-serve key. The detection models cover deepfake and synthetic voices, AI-generated music and singing, language, emotion, accent, speech versus music, non-speech audio events and voicemail. Transcription includes a fast English model, with multilingual, medical and agentic variants marked as planned. A redaction model removes personal and health information from audio and transcripts, and the Triage models surface what needs human attention. ToxMod, a separate product, handles voice moderation for gaming and social communities. The site says Modulate never trains on customer conversations, follows ISO 27001 security processes and HIPAA-compliant practices, and ties every flag to a specific moment in the call.
