What it does
This repository is the original OpenCode, a Go command-line application that puts an AI coding assistant in a terminal interface. It was archived by its owner on September 18, 2025 and is read-only. The page says the project continued under the name Crush, developed by the original author and the Charm team, and it carries an early-development warning. While it was maintained, it worked with models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock, Groq, Azure OpenAI and OpenRouter, with GitHub Copilot marked experimental, and with self-hosted OpenAI-style endpoints. The assistant can run shell commands, search and edit files, apply patches, fetch URLs and read diagnostics from language servers, and it can use external tools over the Model Context Protocol. Sessions are kept in SQLite, long conversations can be summarised automatically, and custom commands are Markdown files. You can use it interactively or pass a single prompt for scripting, with text or JSON output. Install options listed are an install script, Homebrew, the Arch User Repository and go install.
