What it does

Retool AI is the AI side of the Retool platform. You describe an app in plain language and it is scaffolded from your real database schema, roles and permissions, connecting to sources such as Postgres, Databricks and Salesforce. To change it later, you can click a component, @mention a resource or select part of the app and prompt an edit. Workflows chain AI actions, data transformations and business logic, with monitoring and audit logs for each run. A one-step retrieval option adds your own data to a model call. Agents take on jobs such as customer support, data analysis and content generation by reasoning over connected business systems, within access controls you set. Generated apps and workflows inherit the organisation's single sign-on, role-based access and data-level permissions. The site says you can use models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google directly, from AWS and Azure, or bring your own. Hosting, versioning and one-click deployment are included, and self-hosting appears among the platform capabilities. The page shows starter templates such as a support agent, a data analysis dashboard, approval workflows, report generators and internal search. The agent offering is shown with an early-access sign-up. Plan prices are not on this page.
