What it does
Unsloth Desktop is an app for running and training models on your own machine. The site describes it as open source, free and fully local. Downloads are offered for Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows 10 and later, and Ubuntu-compatible Linux. You can download a model from a built-in hub, pick a quantization that suits your device and chat with it. The site also describes no-code training workflows and local generation of images and video with models such as Qwen-Image, FLUX and Wan, along with inpainting, upscaling and editing. A command, unsloth start, connects coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex to the models you run locally, and an OpenAI-compatible API lets existing apps and SDKs use them. Other features include private web search and Deep Research, tool calling that detects and retries failed calls, a sandbox for running Bash and Python, and serving models over HTTPS through a Cloudflare tunnel.
