What it does
Vox is an extension for the GitHub Copilot CLI that adds a voice panel. Running /vox opens a window with a listening orb. Your microphone is streamed to the active Copilot session, the turn is sent after a short pause (or when you tap the orb or press Space), and the reply is read back to you. It also reads aloud replies to turns you type in the CLI, and the same panel renders inside the GitHub Copilot app. The orb changes colour for resting, hearing you, thinking and speaking, and live captions show your speech as you talk. You can interrupt a spoken reply by tapping the orb or pressing Esc, open a transcript panel, and switch between several live sessions from a dropdown. The commands are /vox, /vox-stop and /vox-who. It is pure JavaScript with no build step and installs with a one-line command on Windows, macOS and Linux. It needs the Copilot CLI, Node.js and git, and opens its window in Chrome or Edge app mode so the browser's Web Speech APIs work.
