What it does
Windsurf has been renamed Devin Desktop. The site now presents it as a command center for managing local and cloud coding agents from one place, while keeping a full IDE with syntax highlighting, autocomplete and debugging. The update arrives over the air, and the site says plans, pricing, extensions and settings carry over, with only the name and branding changing. Agent work is organized into sessions that can be viewed as a board or a list, and Spaces share context and Git worktrees across agents. Through the Agent Client Protocol it works with several agents, including Devin Local, Devin Cloud, Codex, Claude Agent, OpenCode and its own Cascade, and it offers a coding model called SWE-1.7. Other features include Supercomplete for predicting your next edit, Fast Context for finding the files and lines an agent needs, diff review before you push, and handoff of work to the cloud. It can be extended with MCP servers such as Slack, Linear, Notion and Figma, plus language servers and editor extensions. The site says Windsurf for JetBrains remains available as a separate download.
