Larust

Larust is a Rust application framework that brings Laravel-style conventions to a compiled, type-checked foundation.

App builders

What it does

Larust projects follow a Laravel-shaped structure with app/Http/Controllers, routes/web.rs, requests, policies, models and Blade-flavored views. Running xr new scaffolds an application and asks for a project directory, whether to include session-based authentication, and which optional features to add. Views live in .blade.xr files and support layouts, sections, components, conditionals, loops and stacks. They compile into real Rust at build time. The toolkit includes routing, validation, views, authentication, migrations and an object-relational mapper. Developers can build server-backed @wire(...) components and push real-time updates with @live(...), with no single-page application build step. Larust says routes, models, validation and templates are real, compiled Rust rather than runtime magic. Install xr from crates.io with cargo install larust-cli; no clone is required. Larust is an independent community project inspired by Laravel's design and is not affiliated with Laravel LLC.

Capabilities

  • The xr command takes the place of php artisan.
  • Route::get(...) keeps the same form as in Laravel.
  • #[derive(Model)] takes the place of Eloquent models.
  • #[derive(FormRequest)] takes the place of Laravel Form Requests.
  • @wire(...) takes the place of Livewire.

When to use it

  • You want Laravel-style conventions on a compiled, type-checked Rust foundation.
  • You want server-rendered views and real-time updates without a single-page application build step.
  • You are coming from Laravel and want a translation guide to the equivalent Larust conventions.
