WiseOCR

WiseOCR converts invoice PDFs and images into structured JSON through an API, Make, Zapier or an MCP server.

What it does

WiseOCR reads an invoice and returns structured JSON. A request sends a file to POST /v1/file with an API key in the Authorization header. WiseOCR recognises the text, checks that the document really is an invoice, and maps the header, line items and taxes to fixed fields. It detects automatically whether the document is an invoice or a receipt. Amounts come back as plain decimal strings, and dates come back in ISO format. WiseOCR returns every invoice in the same structure. WiseOCR says this means an accounting import or database mapping is written once, whatever the layout or country. A demo on the website needs no sign-up.

Capabilities

  • The JSON includes vendor, documentNo, time, currency, country, items, totalNet, totalTax, taxDetails and total.
  • The taxNo field returns the seller tax ID, such as a VAT number, when it is printed on the invoice.
  • The API accepts PDF invoices up to 5 pages and 4 MB, as well as JPG, PNG and other common image formats.
  • The Make and Zapier apps send extracted fields to Google Sheets, accounting software and other apps without code.
  • With the WiseOCR MCP server, Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients read invoice PDFs and scans into the same JSON, or save a whole folder of invoices to a CSV file, when you ask in plain words.

When to use it

  • You need to import invoice data into an accounting system or database.
  • You need to send extracted invoice fields to Google Sheets or accounting software without writing code.
  • You want to extract invoice data from Claude or Cursor.
