Compri closes €3.2 million seed round

Compri has raised a €3.2 million seed round led by Picus Capital to expand its AI software for industrial procurement and supply-chain operations.

In its funding announcement, the company said its product uses AI agents to bring together information from enterprise resource planning systems, emails, Excel files, PDFs and external data sources. The stated goal is to automate procurement workflows that are commonly distributed across disconnected tools.

Compri describes the platform as an “AI workforce” for supply-chain teams. The phrase reflects the company’s positioning rather than a claim that the system replaces a full human procurement function. Its announced focus is on operational work in industrial purchasing, where staff must often reconcile supplier communications, internal records and documents.

Addressing fragmented procurement work

Procurement departments frequently work across structured business systems and less structured material such as inboxes, spreadsheets and supplier documents. Tech.eu reported that Compri is targeting this reliance on email, spreadsheets and disconnected systems, with AI agents intended to handle operational tasks.

Compri says its software centralizes those sources so that procurement teams can work from a more unified view of purchasing information. The company did not detail in its announcement which individual tasks are fully automated, how customers validate outputs, or how the system is deployed within individual ERP environments.

The funding arrives amid growing interest in applying generative AI to back-office functions that still depend heavily on documents and manual coordination. Procurement is a particularly data-intensive area: teams need to track purchase requirements, supplier information and changing operational records while maintaining links to existing enterprise systems.

According to Corriere della Sera, Compri was founded in Milan in 2024 and has developed an AI-driven platform for procurement offices and supply-chain use cases. The newspaper also reported the €3.2 million financing round.

Compri said the capital will support the development of its AI agents for industrial procurement. Neither Compri’s announcement nor the cited coverage disclosed a valuation for the company or provided a detailed breakdown of how the proceeds will be allocated.

For enterprise buyers, the practical test will be whether AI systems can reliably interpret varied documents and communications, surface relevant purchasing information and fit into established procurement controls. Compri’s approach centers on that gap between formal enterprise software and the emails, files and spreadsheets that continue to shape day-to-day purchasing work.
